Explain why you chose Safecity Training Academy Openlearning Network to Upgrade TAA40104 to TAE40110.
A guide to the most widely used VET Glossary Acronyms Terms & References governed by NVR (National VET Regulator).
We decided to include this guide, because we know it will help many trainers who are planning to update their TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification to the new TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Please take a little time to read through the list as you are likely to encounter many of them during your career as a trainer.
Why do I need to update my TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification to the new TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification?
The new TAE10 Training Package was endorsed on the 12th May 2010. All trainers conducting nationally recognised training are now required to hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment .
The new TAE10 Training Package is a more streamlined and efficient package than the previous one. TAE10 has definitely brought about many positive and welcome changes.
Australian VET Training Packages are governed by the principle of "continuous improvement" so we can expect the regulators to continue to surprise us with new changes and additions.
Whilst these constant changes and requirements for upgrading qualifications may be a source of inconvenience to those affected, the fact stands that the Australian Competency Based Training Standards are very high compared with the rest of the world. We note that Australian qualifications are highly regarded among overseas employers and governments.
So what happens to my TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification. Is it no longer valid?
Your TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification, is a nationally recognised qualification and remains a valid qualification.
IIf you are conducting training outside the NVR, and your employer is not issuing certificates of competency under the national training qualifications scheme, then you do not need to apply.
However, if you are conducting nationally recognised training then you must update.
What evidence do I need?
The first step is to identify what units of competency you completed. Your TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will have the competencies listed on the front or the back of the certificate. This list of competencies will help us determine the best pathway for upgrading your qualification.
If you cannot find a list of competencies on your certificate, contact the RTO provider and ask them to supply you with a transcript containing a list of the units before submitting your request for upgrade.
Depending on your current training and assessment activities, you need additional evidence for your TAE upgrade, such as letters from qualified people within your organization, and other documents supporting your application. Our friendly support staff will assess your application and then provide you with a detailed guide that applies to you.
There are specific guidelines about the wording that is required in letters of support from your employer. Our support staff will help you identify what this wording is in compliance with the NVR requirements.
If your friendly Safecity assessors determines that there are gaps between your qualification and the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, they will suggest the most ethical and efficient way to resolve the gap.
We do not believe in e-mailing "kits" since these are often impersonal and may cause you to waste time and money. We believe that the process should be personalized to your vocational career.
The TAE10 Training Package is fair and flexible and we believe that most active trainers will be able to update their qualifications with minimum disruption to their work activities. There are however recognised gaps between the TAA40104 and the TAE40110 qualifications and these will need to be addressed.
It is essential for the assessment process to be compliant with the NVR. We know that the authorities will be auditing these assessments and non-compliance can lead to very unfortunate and embarrassing consequences for the RTO and the applicant.
Why should I choose Safecity Training Academy?
We know that being asked to submit to an assessment can be an emotional experience for many people as well as a professional inconvenience.
In the last 16 years as a Registered Training Organization we have had our share of experiences with assessors.
Some of these experiences, for example, those conducted by the ACT Registration Council Assessors were book--perfect examples of professionalism and integrity and competence.
Other experiences with some other poorly trained assessors from other states were comparable to alien abductions.
When you entrust your update to us, we promise to treat you with respect and friendliness. Our support staff will clearly outline the process in detail with clear and concise guidelines.
Most importantly, at Safecity you will never be treated as a "wallet with legs". We will never compromise your best interests for our financial interests.
We also promise to streamline the process as much as possible -- but without compromising the ethical requirements demanded by the NVR.
